Legal & Gereral
I recently led a UI/UX uplift for Legal & General’s mortgage broker product ahead of a shift from free access to a subscription model (launching February 2026). I ran heuristic reviews & broker research to identify and prioritise tactical improvements, whilst creating prototypes based on the their newly delivered Canopy design system. Further research identified wider strategic improvements, strengthening the most-valued journeys and shaping a forward-looking UX roadmap.
Spirax Group
At Spirax Group, I co-created a design system with a single developer, achieving adoption across two core products within six months. I also helped shape an AI-powered training platform that reduced Sales onboarding time from 24 to 18 months, supporting the creation of an LLM from fragmented training data. I led research and designed an experience that helped users navigate gaps in content with confidence.
A new Cyber startup
For a new Australian cyber startup, I conducted a detailed UX and accessibility critique of a proposed solution, including competitor analysis. My feedback led to a strategic pivot that avoided significant wasted effort and helped position the solution ahead of its competitors.
Iress
I spent the majority of my career at Iress. Starting as a UI developer, I moved into UX and finished as a product manager overseeing their design system. In 2012, I established the UX function with a team of three graduate designers, who each have become a success in their own right. I later relocated to Australia for three years to build a new design function from the ground up. I led research and UX across five flagship financial advice products—contributing to award-winning software.
Oxford Risk
I rapidly created a UI component framework within two weeks —aligned with their React and Tailwind codebase. This laid the groundwork for using AI-powered design-to-code tools and enabled faster prototyping to align stakeholders and conduct effective user testing.
LAB Group
At LAB Group, I used Figma and AI tools to create browser-ready prototypes, enabling quick user testing and faster validation of onboarding experiences.
Oxford University Press
At Oxford University Press, I led a UX and accessibility review of their design system usage and delivered a prioritised report with quick wins and longer-term recommendations.
